Feedback from Debbie G received December 2007:

Hi David,
I am and have been a regular customer at 'Twinks' since I was about 5 years of age, I am now 43. I have many memories of Margaret and the wonderful Twinkle ladies (and I really do mean ladies). The shop has always had such a friendly welcoming atmosphere, where you are never too afraid to ask advice on your latest project. I regularly make costumes for schools and local youth theatres, and find that whenever I have a problem on how to do something (i.e. make a mouse costume with a tail that swings - thank you Audrey)It is never too much trouble to take the time to show me what is available to acheive something. I dread to think how much I have spent in Twinks over the years, but relish the pleasure of enjoyment my hobbies have brought me. I was so sad to hear that Margaret had died, and was afraid that Twinks would be lost to us. It is a most remarkable little shop, and I dont know of anything like it anywhere. The changes you have made are great, bringing it into 2007. I wish you every success for the future, and hope that the Twinkle Ladies and the shop stay a part of mine and my family's life for a very long time.
Love Debbie x

Feedback from Jenny H received on 13 November 2007:

I live in Nottingham and love the Sally Twinkle shop. On my many visits to your shop, I have always been able to find, eventually, just what I was looking for, a particular zip, trim for upholstery or blinds, thread, buttons and ribbon etc.
The team of 'girls' are always helpful and have a sound knowledge of the stock.
Keep going, you're unique and very special.
Best wishes Jenny

Email from Duncan A received on 22 October 2007:

Hello,
I am a 3rd year student at Nottingham Trent University, studying Fine Art. I have lived in Mansfield all my life and have always been a fan of "Sally Twinkle". I would be devastated if this wonderful haberdashers was to ever close (mainly because of the tradition and independence of this charming shop, and brilliant staff).
I was involved with the installation and running of a large message board situated in the middle of the Bonnington building which is clearly in view to the 1000's of passing Arts student (many involved with some form of fashion course). I have taken the liberty of placing a brief advert for the Sally Twinkle website for this week in support of the efforts of the new owner (completely free of charge of course). Please find attached images of the sign promoting your website.
I wish you all the success with the future and I welcome any further correspondence.

COMMENT: Wow! Well done Duncan!.

Feedback from Karen S received on 30 September 2007:

Love the web site - I suppose the next step is internet and mail orders. Would like to see more dressmaking fabric especially suiting similar to the grey stretch one that I've made a lovely suit from. Would like to do the same with other colours especially black as well as other really good quality fabrics that are a pleasure to sew (cheap fabric is a demon as it needs more preparation and isn't that easy to sew with and as a result I avoid them)
Keep up the wonderful service you provide, Karen

COMMENT: Thank you for the ideas, Karen. They have been passed on to the TWINKLE GIRLS

Feedback from Joanne B received on 26 September 2007:

Hi, I was thrilled to hear Sally Twinkle's will still be trading. Before I became housebound I always used to visit the shop for my sewing needs, but no longer can get out and about. It would be great if you could have an "online store" so that myself and many others could still purchase the products.
Good luck with the "new" business.
Regards, Joanne

COMMENT: At present we do not have an "online store" nor an official mail order department. However, several people unofficially order over the 'phone and receive their goods by post, with the cost of postage and packing added. The TWINKLE GIRLS would love to hear from you, Joanne (and anybody else who is unable to get to the shop).

Feedback from Pamela C received on 25 September 2007:

What exciting news to see that you all now have a website.
As a regular customer over the last 15 years it is great to know that you are continuing to provide an essential service to all who still sew! The costume-making volunteers at Hardwick Hall have always found what they needed in the store. Many thanks to you all.

Feedback from Melissa E received on 23 September 2007:

Hello, My name is Melissa and I am 24 years old, I think your shop is the best shop in Mansfield! I have been coming to you for ribbons, buttons and fabric from studying textiles at West Notts College, and also through studying for my Textile Degree at Notts. Trent University. I am now getting married and still coming to you for ribbons for my invitations and favours that I am making myself. Anything I need to do with being creative, I know I can come to Sally's. I was delighted to learn you had a website now, I have just looked at all of the ladies that work there and the new owner to discover that David Marriott goes to the spinning class that me and my Mum go to at Oak tree Leisure Centre on a Tuesday night at 6.30pm! Small world eh?

King Regards, Melissa

Email from Sharon received on 20 September 2007:

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your re-launch.
I have been visiting Sally Twinkles periodically for over 30 years, and more than welcome the fact it is to remain open. I have passed the word around to anyone I know who sews. I will now pass on your web site.
My friend and I, have also noticed the improvements that are taking place. This must be hard work owing to the amount of stock and small size of items.
And thanks for starting to stock concealed zippers, as I have been in the past sending to the States for those. (I bought one today to teach a friend how to insert one.)
Will you be having more dressmaking fabrics in stock? I do have far too many here at home, but being a fabric addict is not a bad thing
Many thanks

Feedback from Lynne T received on 20 September 2007:

As a regular customer of Sally Twinkles (every Thursday morning - and told off if I am late by the Twinkle Girls) I am so glad that the business is to continue, I would be lost without it. It is not only 'Haberdashery Heaven' but the Twinkle girls are so friendly and helpful. Long may Sally Twinkle continue.

Anonymous feedback message received on 19 September 2007:

CONGRATULATIONS, FROM YOUR YOUNGER GOLDEN GIRLS!

Moira P is the first person to use our feed back form. She wrote on 18 September 2007:

I have traded with Margaret for almost all of the forty years working as a dressmaker and soft furnishing. Margaret saw my children and my grandchildren grow up. Now they are into dancing so I will continue to need the Aladdin's cave that is Sallytwinkles. I would just like to wish you all the best in the shop I am so I pleased it is staying open. Any chance of it opening perhaps for half a day on Wednesdays. I often seem to run short of something mid week

COMMENT: Moira's request has been passed on to new owner David Marriott

A very supportive email from Michael D on 16 September 2007 included:

I think it needs the photo of Margaret which you had in the shop somewhere on the website . . . . No doubt the next thing will be people wanting to order and pay over the internet! But that's another ball game.

COMMENT: The ALL ABOUT US section is now rewritten, including a much better picture of Margaret, and many extra pictures! CLICK. On the subject of online trading, no plans at present but if there is a demand . . . .

Overheard from a customer in the shop (15 September 2007):

SALLY TWINKLE is HABERDASHERY HEAVEN !
